I purchased Orchid's Dixie, aka Vanilla, in August 2016 as not only a future breeding mare, but at the time a pony for myself to ride. At the time she as 11 years old, but had only been broken in 3 months - before that she was a broodmare in Germany. After moving to the UK in November 2017, we finally competed in our first show less than a month later. Then in 2018 we competed together in BS Junior Classes, and in 2019 in BS Senior Classes since I was too old to ride in pony classes anymore. In all the years I have owned Vanilla, she has not once bucked, reared or ever done anything 'naughty' under saddle. Although she is not the most confident horse, especially when it comes to jumping, she truly has a heart of gold and really cares about the rider.
This year we plan to put her in foal via AI. 
I feel very lucky to own a mare with such a unique pedigree, since her very talented sire, Kinka's Boy, was gelded after only having 27 foals. As far as I'm aware, Vanilla is the only offspring of Kinka's Boy in the UK. For more info on her pedigree, see below.

Orchid's Dixie's sire is Kenneth (sport name Kinka's Boy), an FEI Jumping pony who has competed up to 1.35m level. He only had 27 foals before being gelded, and 11 of them have now gone on to compete at international level! Kinka's Boy's sire is the legendary Kanshebber, who was also an FEI Jumping Pony with many successful offspring - he is also the sire of our stallion Kaleo van Orchid's.

Orchid's Leo - Competed 2x at the European Pony Championships in Jumping. 
Orchid's Roy - FEI Jumping Pony, 1.30m level. Also has the same dam's sire as Orchid's  Dixie.

Kinka's Girl - FEI Jumping Pony, 1.20m level. Exported to the Unites States.
Starlight - High Level Dressage Pony.

Dam: Orchid's Clarissa
Orchid Dixie's is the first foal of Orchid's Clarissa. After some years of being a broodmare at Orchid's Paardenmelkerji, Clarissa was sold and has since competed in some dressage competitions. In May 2020 she is expecting a foal by FS Mr.Right.  
Orchid's Clarissa's sire is Berkhof's Higgledy Piggledy, some of his other offspring include FEI Jumping Pony Orchid's Floris and  FEI Dressage Pony Kantje's Unicolor - both of which are also licensed stallions.
